Lance Garland CHt, RYT, RM has a diverse and eclectic background in the healing arts that has shaped the unique character of his practice. This background allows him to serve his clients with highly comprehensive, adaptable and effective treatment plans.
Lance’s study and practice originates in traditional western medical science, health and psychology. His undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri included a BS in clinical exercise science, with areas of emphasis biology, psychology and education. He received additional education and professional training by the College of Sports Medicine and was employed as a Cardiology Technician at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis. He was later employed as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialists at Roper Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation in Charleston, SC.
During his tenure in the health and medical science field, he began to study many alternative healing systems of the mind, body and spirit. These investigations lead to a brilliant transformation of his career. Currently, Lance is certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and has been in private practice as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Neuro-Linguistic Programmer in Charleston, SC for over seven years. He is completing an MA in mental health counseling psychology, and is currently practicing as a Master’s Degree Mental Health Counseling Intern at ARCHES.
Lance has extensively studied holistic healing and philosophical paradigms from around the world; emphasizing on various indigenous spiritual and healing traditions of Europe and the Americas, the teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, as well as the science of Quantum Physics. Lance is certified by the Yoga alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher, and teaches the Integral Hatha Yoga tradition founded by Swami Satchitananda of Mysore. He has undergone advanced training with the Foundation of Shamanic Studies in the ancient indigenous healing practice of shamanism. Lance is also a Usui tradition Reiki master and integrates indigenous and alternative healing systems and modalities such as Reiki, Chi Gung, Yoga and Shamanism into his practice.
